Let's put aside the fact that the layout is just convoluted enough to make running around and blasting other people SECONDARY. This map is FUN! The first cap point is beyond the main hallway and behind a reflecting pool complete with its own waterfall...<p> <center> <img border="0" src="http://www.invade-defend.com/images/maya/maya01.jpg"></center><p> I've been playing TFC for about 2 years now and I was floored the first time I loaded this up and started my tour. The theme is original, the wall textures are spot on, the sounds add to rather than detract from the gameplay and the mapper obviously got tired of Dustbowl not having enough places for SG's because this map is ripe with elevated killing positions for the defenders. <br> Cap Point 2 is secluded within a bunker that is surrounded by platforms and a 'secret' side tunnel exit.<p> <center> <img border="0" src="http://www.invade-defend.com/images/maya/maya02.jpg"></center><p> The third cap point is only reached by climbing!!<p> <center> <img border="0" src="http://www.invade-defend.com/images/maya/maya03.jpg"></center><p> I have to say that I can't play this map enough. If you have a well-coordinated defense, it is very difficult to advance the flag. And there lies the rub. I've played this map against a well organized group of defenders and with the players and the map against you, it is almost too difficult. It could be that my offense just wasn't up to the task or it could be my skewed take on things but that is the only detraction I could come up with. So, in conclusion: This map is fun, the mapmakers at [WTF?] paid a lot of attention to gameplay and detail, but the map can be too difficult. </td> </tr> </table> |
