Huge peeve for me on attacking CP3 on dbowl is when gates open and we have people standing at the gates ready to run.
True, it's better than standing back and waiting for the spam and sg's to magically dissapear, but people please, the SG's are nearly impossible to take out with skilled engi's looking after them. So here's what you do:

1. You switch to a class capable of taking SG's out fairily easily
Sniper, fully charged shot = 1 hit KO
Soldier, 3-4 rockets will usually do in an SG, unless there is an engi whacking away at it. In this case, fire off 4 in a row and then switch to shotty and pump as many into it as you can. There is no use in strafing back out of the hole as you will only impede your teammates trying to take out that same SG. Attacking is not about getting the kills, it's about capping the flag (why else would CP3 be worth 50 kills, for u statwh0res out there tongue.gif)
Medic, supernailgun is a great SG destroyer, it saps the SG down to 0 even with an engi whacking it

2. Stand back against the wall of the tunnel!!
This point cannot be stressed enough, the SGs in the alcove cannot target you as you are out of their range, the map was designed like this on purpose, so please take advantage of it.

3. Let it rip
Pump as much ammo available to you as possible before you die.
Yes you WILL die. Be proud of that, because the sooner you die, the sooner you can respawn with full health armor and ammo and get back to helping your team win.

4. Do not try to rush out of the gates until SGs are taken care of!!
Another point to stress, as soon as someone (expect disguised spies) runs out of the gates they are immediatly targeted by the SGs. Now you may think that dying while pushing onward is always for the greater good, but it's not. A lvl3 SG will launch of rockets towards the hole, it may miss you, or you may be dead by then, but the rockets do not just simply go away, they keep on heading into the hole. I cannot count the times where I have had a fully charged sniper shot lined up and begun to strafe the SG into view when a SG rocket has either killed me or blown me way off.


Now some people may say, "but Skruffy, what about the spam?"

As I've said before you WILL die, but so will your opponents, and they will take far more time to get into position than you will. So grin and bear it.
I strongly believe that even the best defence on dustbowl can always be beaten by a well coordinated offence.

Play smarter, not harder.

You forget that a pretty good disguised spy, who has good grenade aim and is not getting "un-disguised" by some fool who rushes the flag headlong into the hail of SG rockets, can take out those pesky SG's also!

But otherwise, Great advice!

EASIEST WAYS to get out of the gates at 3:

1. Stand back and toss all your nades into hole. You may get lucky and launch a teammate safely below the SGs.

2. Set up an SG before the gates, in case they try to break thru.

3. Toss pipes in the hole. A little plumbing never hurt no one.

4. Stand back a safe distance from the hole and let your teammates do all the dirty work. Someone is bound to take down the SGs eventually, why risk your K/D ratio?

5. Switch to defense while the going is good! When it looks like attackers may cap, switch back to O.

6. If any of your teammates pause before going in, give them a little encouragement by sniping them in.

actually the easiest way and i do this every once in awhile when i dont have gooob teammates.... place a det in the hole and due to a defect in the map the det blast actually shoots out at a 45 degree angle and usually hits both sgs... if not.. for sure will take out the one on the left... trade secrets of -=T|2ANQ=-
