A large Attack and Defend TFC map for large 16 v 16 games. Set in a dark castle environment. They make excellent hiding spots for spy feigning or sentrys.

Gameplay feedback would be much appreciated!

If Erad gets ahold of this, hold on to your hat.

This map is big - very big. With dead-ends, rooms that lead to no where, and no clear indication of where you are (landmarks) or where you're going, this is going to be a tough sell. That's right, there are no signs telling either team which way to go. On a large map this will keep people from playing it. Gotta have signs.

Also, a dustbowl style map with only 2 caps is interesting. When a flag carrier dies, his team has little chance of discovering where it is. Again, no signs or landmarks that stand out will make it very difficult for both O and D to find out where the action is.

You have a good mix of textures that add to the theme, however some could have used better scale and the vertex manipulated ones could have used align to face. Some of the interior lighting is well done, and the unique caps is a nice touch.

Is this a final version or do you plan to revise it at all? If so, we have a number of people here who would be happy to help.

I echo Pets comments, needs some signs. Spent 10 mins looking fro cap 1

Do you have 2 have a demo to open it up. as I couldnt see another way in. I have no doubt there is 1, just hard 2 see it. Also Need doors on Respawn def cap 2. I walked right in there carring flag, was only me there just looking around, Guns got me, no probs then, but bit harse in gameplay if a noob takes it in there having 2 wait for return, when some doors woudl stop the problem

overview is included showing cap 1 and 2 locations along with detpack points

I could change somethings but I doubt I can add any new brushes because i've reached hl1 limits of brushes.

cap 1 has 4 ways to try to reach it.

1. by the church looking house
2. opening by the water fountain
3. inside area next to fountain
4. by blue detpack inside the torched castle

overview is only good while in spec

signs would typically be func_wall_toggles so you can make em appear & disappear depending on what cap is active

Because your map has a wad file, I suggest you make a .res, or resource file. This way, folks can autodownload it and have it auto install with Steam.

Give me a heads up and I'll put it in one of our guild's server rotations.

Ok It's about time I updated this map...

First off I change the gamestyle. It now plays like Avanti. It has 4 cap points that are place well. It plays way better now I think. Also I added signs to help people out too. Made some changes on the layout too for gameplay. Check it out.
